- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 1st Floor 2 Bedroom Brigadune on Shore Drive has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
