Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Waterpark View - Kitchenette - 2 Seperate Beds has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
