Rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Golf Course 1st Floor Condo- Minutes from Beach\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
