Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Golf Course Vacation Spot, Luxurious 3BR Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
