How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Gorgeous 4 Bd Rm-Full Access-8D Windermere has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
