Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the rightvacation home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous 4 Bd Rm-Full Access-8D Windermere has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
