Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. MAKE YOUR PLANS NOW, WE ARE ACCEPTING SPRING & SUMMER RENTALS FOR 2025!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
