Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Harbour Lights™ - 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
