Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Cozy Ocean Lakes home w\/Golf cart! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
