How to find the best rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Hidden Gem View - Oceanview Mini Suite 2nd Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
