Our top Rental home tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanside Condo July 5-12 Week Available has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
