Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Hidden Haven by WT Golf has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
