Our top Rental booking tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanview Condo-Walk to Apache Pier & Ocean Annie's- Steps to Beach & 2 Pools! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
