A Breezy Atlantic Coast Escape
It’s no surprise that families appreciate visiting Myrtle Beach. Sun, white sand and boardwalk games are hard not to appreciate. Deciding where to stay? That can be a bit trickier. Staying right on the beach gives you exceptional vistas but oftentimes a smaller (and sometimes noisier) room. Staying further inland requires some driving back and forth, but gives you more room to spread out as a family.

Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Enjoy Family & Friends in a 2BD resort condo lots of amenities onsite including lazy river has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
