Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Horizons at 77th - 1 Bedroom has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
