Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Imagine (1) your vacation at this beautiful condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
