How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Immaculate Oceanfront Queen Suite With Updates! - Caravelle Resort 619 - Sleeps 2-3 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
