Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Incredible Oceanfront View Condo 1bd\/1ba has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
