Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Inviting Oceanfront 1Br with Jetted Garden tub! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
