Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Is your Family due for a beach getaway? Our gorgeous oceanfront Condo is ready! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
