Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Find your best deal:
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Landmark King Suite 850 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
