Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Large Oceanfront Condo at Carolina Dunes by Luxury Beach Rentals has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
