Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Large Oceanfront Five Bedroom Condo - Available by Luxury Beach Rentals has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
