Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
