Getting the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Three 2BR\/2BA Suites has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
