Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group choose trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Luxury 3 Bed 3 Bath w/ oceanfront master - Available by Luxury Beach Rentals has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
