How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View Luxury Condo in Royale Palms, Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach SC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
