Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Magnolia Pointe Luster Leaf 4825-301 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
