Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:
- First, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Serenity 19th Floor Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
