Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to choose and book the rightrental:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Turtle Cove - Modern Oceanfront 3 BR Condo with Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
