Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Turtle Cove - Modern Oceanfront 3 BR Condo with Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
