Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Mesmerizing 2BR Suite at Ocean View Towers! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
