Rental home tips and tricks:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1112 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
