Rental property booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 14th floor Studio @ Myrtle Beach Resort! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
