Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. T1801 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Fantastic Ocean Front Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
