Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Kingston SJP 13D 2nd floor Villa w/pool/beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
