Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront Views,Pools Caravelle,HIGH Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
