- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
