Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the perfectrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Best Views! Direct Oceanfront Corner Unit! Newly Renovated & Large Outdoor Space has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
