Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Amazing Large Oceanfront Sleeps (8) -2 bedroom 2bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
