Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal Escape Penthouse w\/ Ocean Views has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
