Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated, Gorgeous, Spacious Oceanfront 1 BR/1BA Condo At Paradise Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
