Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly renovated beachfront studio with pools, hot tub, fitness room has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
