Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Nice and cozy 1br condo at Magnolia place has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
