Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ninth Floor: 2-Bedroom Condo Sweeping Ocean Vistas has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
