Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:
- Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Villas A115 - Oceanview has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
