Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. OCEAN FRONT 2 BEDROOM 2 BATH has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
