Finding the best vacation home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. OCEAN FRONT 2 BEDROOM 2 BATH has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
