Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Front 3 BR Condo Pelican Landing Step onto the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
