Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Front Condos at Patricia Grand has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
