Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- To book the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Site 1761 Covered front porch w\/ TV! Short walk to Southgate in OL! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
