Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes site 7011, Newly updated, perfect beach retreat. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
