Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. MH 408 Like to golf, have your own putting green in the front yard has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
